Privacy Policy

What we collect

Nothing. We don’t collect, store or sell personal data, and we don’t track you across apps or websites. Your settings are stored on your iPhone.

Screen Time

Dopamine Zero uses Apple’s Screen Time frameworks to block apps and websites. The apps you pick are given to us as private tokens from Apple, so the app can block them without knowing which apps they are.

Screen Time usage numbers are drawn by an extension that Apple keeps sandboxed. That data never leaves it, and we can’t see it.

Zero apps and Safari

Zero apps open sites like Instagram and YouTube inside Dopamine Zero and hide feeds with scripts that run on your iPhone. The optional Safari extension does the same in Safari on Instagram and YouTube.

These scripts don’t read your passwords or messages, and nothing they see is sent to us. The sites themselves still receive what you do on them, as they would in any browser, under their own privacy policies.

The adult-site filter keeps no record of the sites you visit.

iCloud

If you turn on iCloud Sync, your settings are saved to your own iCloud account so your other iPhones can use them. Sign-ins for Zero apps are saved in iCloud Keychain. Both are protected by Apple and we can’t read either. Screen Time picks and usage never leave the iPhone they were made on.

Other things the app uses

• App icons. To show app names and icons, the app looks them up in Apple’s public App Store search. That request goes to Apple, not to us.
• Photos. Add-only access, used only to save a wallpaper you choose. The app can’t see your photo library.
• Alarms. Wake alarms are scheduled on your iPhone with Apple’s alarm system.
• Purchases. Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We never receive your payment details.

Children

Dopamine Zero isn’t directed at children under 13 and doesn’t knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
